Jackling House in Woodside, CA mid 1970's
The Jackling news article piqued my interest on the subject again and I realized there is a general lack of pictures of the house on the web, especially more recent ones with the house in good condition, so I dug some up.
Here are some pictures of the Jackling Mansion that my father took while visiting.

These images are wonderful. I've seen some similar ones fr. an earlier period & some fr. the period of Jobs' "neglect." I'm sure Uphold Our Heritage, fighting to save the House, would love to know about them.
Thanks for sharing yr fond memories of the House. We're going to do our level best to ensure that the House has a future, if not in that location, then somewhere nearby & hopefully matching the graciousness & beauty of the current landscape & natural surroundings.
Now, if we can just get Mr. J to understand the almost criminal nature of his desire to tear down such a lovely architectural landmark; so that he will agree to someone else taking the House off his hands.

Oh good grief..It's only 80 years old, and ugly. Where's the "heritage"? It has no historical significance. It's trying to look "european", but would be more at home in Disneyland.
Let Jobs build something new, and in a few hundred years you might have something of importance, like the Vanderbilt mansions etc... but this? come on!
Quit trying to invent history and just have the patience to let it happen.

What a beautiful home. How can Jobs, who pretends to be "liberal", "progressive", etc. let this home get into disrepair? I would love to live in this home! Wikipedia says 3 other people have offered to buy it. I don't believe that Jobs wants a "smaller home" like he says he does.
I bet he wants a square ugly "modern" home. That gorgeous Jackling House would be absolutely fantastic for almost anyone with a new kitchen in it, etc.
Wish I could afford to buy it and keep it up. It would be an HONOR.
For a man in charge of a company that is all about style, this is a major black mark on him.
